Kyrie Irving was not on the Celtics bench for Game 7 because of minor nasal surgery, Boston general manager Danny Ainge said Tuesday. Ainge said, he was apparently recovering from minor nasal surgery because the Celtics needed at least one more injury to an already injured player to cap off this season. Irving’s agent Jeff Wechsler said that the point guard wanted to attend the game but couldn’t fly because of the surgery and indicted that he was expected to need four to five months to recover.
